Millionaire for Life is a simple game to play as there’s no optional features or multipliers involved. All you need to do is pick five numbers from 1 to 58 and a Millionaire Ball between 1 and 5. Select the Quick Pick option to get a random set of numbers. When playing in Colorado, be aware of these rules that are specific to the Centennial State and may be different elsewhere:
- The minimum age to play is 18
- You may purchase tickets for up to 13 weeks (91 drawings) with Advance Play
- There is a break in ticket sales at 7:30 PM MT, before they resume at 7:33 PM MT. The draw takes place at 9:15 PM MT
You must match at least two of the six numbers to win a prize. If you match all six numbers, you’ll win the jackpot of $1 million a year for life. Go to the Odds and Prizes page to see a table of all the payouts.

Colorado ‘for Life’ History
The Colorado Lottery sold tickets for Lucky for Life from July 17, 2016, until its final drawing on February 21, 2026. The state’s first winners in Lucky for Life were Richard O. and his wife, who claimed the cash option of $5.7 million in August 2021 rather than the annuity of $1,000 a day for life.
The CO Lottery was one of the first to announce that it would participate in Millionaire for Life, with Senior Director Tom Seaver calling it a ‘unique opportunity to dream big - year after year’. The sale of every ticket goes towards protecting and preserving Colorado’s natural resources.
