How to Play Millionaire for Life in Ohio
Playing Millionaire for Life in Ohio is straightforward and offers a unique "for-life" payout. Here is how to get started:
- Number Selection: Pick five main numbers between 1 and 58 and one Millionaire Ball between 1 and 5. Match all six to win the top prize.
- Bet Cards: Pick up a bet card (play slip) at any licensed retailer or use Auto Pick for totally random numbers. Each card features 5 play areas, allowing you to play up to five separate sets of numbers on a single slip.
- Multiple Draws: Never miss a draw. Select the ‘Multi-Draw’ option to enter your lucky digits into up to 10 consecutive draws.
- Auto Pick: You can use Auto Pick just the main numbers, just the Millionaire Ball, or both.
- Ticket Security: Tickets cannot be refunded or cancelled. Because lost or stolen tickets cannot be replaced, treat your ticket like cash.
How to Claim Prizes
The prize-claiming method for OH Millionaire for Life is different depending on how much you win.
- Up to $599: Visit any licensed Ohio Lottery retailer for an immediate cash payout.

- $5,001–$25,000: Scan your ticket via the mobile app for direct deposit or visit a regional office or racino to file your claim.
- Over $25,000: These larger prizes must be processed at an Ohio Lottery Regional Office. Making an appointment is recommended for jackpot wins.
Important: You must sign the back of your original ticket and present valid photo identification when claiming. For jackpots, a formal claim form is required. Tickets must be claimed in the state where they were purchased; an Ohio ticket cannot be redeemed in Pennsylvania or any other state.

- Anonymity: If you win a Millionaire for Life prize in Ohio, you can remain anonymous. Ohio is one of the few states where this is permitted.
- Cash Lump Sum Option: The Ohio Lottery allows jackpot winners to opt for a cash lump sum instead of the annuity if they wish. You have 60 days to choose between the two options. The cash lump sum for the jackpot is $18,000,000 and that of the second prize is $2,200,000.
- Multiple Winners: If there are 2 to 20 jackpot winners, the annuity prize is split equally. If there are 21 or more winners, the annuity is replaced by a lump sum prize fund shared equally among all winners.
Ohio 'for Life' Game History
Ohio officially launched Millionaire for Life on February 22, 2026, replacing the long-running Lucky for Life game. The move was designed to provide even larger "for-life" payouts while continuing to generate vital funding for Ohio’s education system. Upon the launch, lottery officials noted that the higher-value payout—$1 million a year for life—was a direct response to player demand for more impactful, life-changing prizes.
