Massachusetts 'for Life' History
Lucky for Life predated Millionaire for Life and worked in a similar way, offering a top prize of $1,000 a day for life. Lucky for Life was launched in Massachusetts and its five neighboring New England states in March 2012. One of the final winners before the game came to an end was Joseph Hennessy of Weymouth, South Shore, MA, who won the second prize of $25,000 a year in February 2026 and said he planned to help his family. Millionaire for Life replaced Lucky for Life a few days later, launching in 31 states.
