How to Claim Cash4Life Prizes
Claiming a lottery prize for Cash4Life is really easy, but the options available to you depend on several factors – chiefly how much you have won and where you bought your ticket.
Claiming Prizes
Find out below what you need to do for each prize amount. If you are lucky enough to win one of the top two prizes, you will need to contact the relevant state lottery directly to start the claim process.
Keep in mind that you can only redeem prizes in the same state where you purchased your ticket. For example, if you live in New York but are visiting New Jersey when you play, you will need to claim any winnings from the New Jersey Lottery.
$599 and under
It couldn’t be simpler to claim a prize of up to $600. All you need to do is visit an authorized retailer and hand in your ticket. It will be scanned to check you are a winner, and you will receive your money immediately. If the retailer does not have sufficient cash for a payout in the hundreds of dollars, you may need to make arrangements to come back or go elsewhere. As an alternative, you can mail in winning tickets of any value.
$600 and over
If you match four numbers and the Cash Ball on Cash4Life, you win $2,500, which is too much to be cashed in at a local retailer. Instead, mail in your ticket along with a completed claim form, or visit a regional claim center or state lottery HQ.
Prizes For Life
If you win one of the top two prizes, you’ll need to contact your state lottery directly to make arrangements for claiming the prize in person. Whether you plan to take the prize as an annuity or accept the lump sum option, you’ll need to speak to lottery officials. Be sure to have your signed winning ticket, claim form, Social Security number, and a photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, to hand.
You can find the addresses of the lottery headquarters in each of the participating states in the table below.
