Lucky for Life has officially come to an end and has been replaced by the new Millionaire for Life game. Millionaire for Life combines the former Cash 4 Life and Lucky for Life formats into one multi-state annuity-style lottery across the USA. Instead of $1,000 per day for life, the new top prize is $1,000,000 per year for life, along with a refreshed prize structure and slightly different ball matrix. When do draws take place?

Lucky for Life draws are held daily at 10:38 p.m. ET (9:38 PM CT).

What time do ticket sales close?

The cut-off time for ticket sales varies from state to state, but in most places it is around an hour before the draw takes place.

What is the minimum age to play?

You have to be at least 18 years old to buy Lucky for Life tickets. In Nebraska, the minimum age is 19, and in Iowa, it is 21.

How do I play Lucky for Life?

Select five numbers from 1 to 48 and a Lucky Ball between 1 and 18, then just decide how many draws to play in a row. Go to the How to Play page for more information.

How do I win prizes?

To win the jackpot, the six numbers you have selected must match the six numbers drawn randomly in the lottery. There are various other prizes for matching fewer numbers. Go to the Odds and Prizes page to see all the different ways to win.

How much can I win playing Lucky for Life?

The top prize is $1,000 a day for life.

Is there a cash option?

Yes, you can take $5.75 million as a lump sum if you prefer a one-off payment to a lifetime annuity. There is also a cash option for the second prize. Go to the Cash vs Annuity page for more details.

Is there a limit to how many players can win?

Yes, there is a limit to how many players can receive the advertised top prize. If 15 or more players match all the numbers, they each receive a share of $7.125 million, and there is no annuity option.

What happens if a winner dies shortly after the draw?

Annuity payments continue to go to the winner’s estate until 20 years have passed from the draw date.

Does the jackpot roll if nobody wins?

No, the jackpot remains the same in every draw.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 30,821,472. Your overall chances of winning any prize are 1 in 8.

How long do I have to claim my prize?

The time you have to claim your prize depends on where you purchased your ticket. It will either be 180 days or one year from the draw date.
